This is a line by line on how to install OpenNms on deb sarge. If i have missed anything, please tell me & i'll sort it out. I guessed that you need apache, but i'm not sure, as i wanted it on the box for other reasons anyway.

OpenNMS on Solaris
Over the next couple of months i will be setting up OPenNMS on a solaris box. I have had a look around the various nms packages out there, & opennms appears to be the most scalable true GPL solution. As it runs on postgre solaris seems to be the most logical choice for the backend.
clip from the OPenNMS wiki after the bump.
