Microsoft Superpreview is actually quite cool

Every web developer today faces the challenge of checking website compatibility across a large pool of browsers and browser versions in the marketplace. Up and until now, either you could install every browser, verify the website via a visual inspection and debug with tools specialized to that browser, or you could send a URL to a third-party screenshotting service like BrowserShots for an all-in-one visual inspection. The former is messy and tedious but gives you more control and an opportunity to diagnose problems, whilst the latter is simple but slow and useless to fix the problem. Needless to say, SuperPreview is the best of both worlds. (via istartedsomething)

OMG, _really_ cool preloaders.

I know, i know it's sad to get excited by preloaders, but come on - look at these

PHP 5.2.5 MSSQL 2005 on server 2003 Unable to connect to server: bug
It appears that there is a bug with the latest version of PHP (5.2.5)(nts on windows) in the ntwdblib.dll file. It ships with version 2000.2.8.0, which won't connect to SQL 2005.
The solution is to replace the file with version 2000.80.194.0, which can be downloaded from here
Installing subversion (svn) and trac on a Centos 4.6, virtuoso VM running cPannel & WHM
Or, "how to cause yourself much pain and mental anguish by inflicting silly challenges on yourself when you should really be getting some sleep"
cPannel supports apache2 now. svn needs apache2, so all is good. Or so you would think.
When installing SVN on VPS' such as Virtuozzo, you may find that the process of creating the repository hangs, due to a lack on entropy with /dev/random. It is therefore a better bet to actually develop and use SVN outside of the VPS realm, using a dedicated box.[1]
Nice. Entropy. (I'm getting visions of Oliver Ridge, my old physics teacher, who used to fix computers with his bare hands, and a big box of resistors. Seriously, someone once gave him a broken hard disk, and he gave it back a week later. It had about ten extra components soldered to the pcb and worked better than it had originally. The man was a genius.)

Kirix Strata
available for download now, is the beta version of strata, a database cum browser for the desktop. There is a screencast intro to it's capabilities. It looks like it should make those data mining tasks a little easier.
Oh, did i mention that it's database engine can handle 60 billion
records per table?
